Procedures for Virtual Meetings

PROCEDURES FOR THE EMERALD HILLS SAFETY ENHANCEMENT DISTRICT BOARD UTILIZING COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA TECHNOLOGY

Section 1. Procedures. The Emerald Hills Safety Enhancement District (EHSED) Board (the “Board”) may, during the State of Emergency, as declared by the City of Hollywood, hold virtual meetings using communications media technology. All members may appear virtually.

a. Prior to the commencement of any Board meeting the Notice of the meeting shall be posted in a manner consistent with Section 286.011, Florida Statutes. The notice shall include instructions on how to access the public meeting either via telephone, video conference, or other communications media technology utilized by the Board.

b. As used in these Procedures, “communications media technology” means the electronic transmission of printed matter, audio, full-motion video, freeze-frame video, compressed video, and digital video by any method available, and includes telephonic and video conferencing.

c. The public meeting shall comply with all requirements of Section 286.011, Florida Statutes, which have not otherwise been suspended or waived pursuant to Executive Order 20-69 (e.g., the preparation of minutes, etc.) and these Procedures.

d. These Procedures shall remain in place as long as the State of Emergency is in effect, as amended and extended.

e. Ratified on the 5th day of May 2020.
